This summer friends of ours went to Russia and adopted a little boy, now four years old, with Down's Syndrome. Today "mom" updated her blog with uplifting photos of how well their new son is doing here in America. You can read about it here.
Of course, there are still a lot of challenges (take language, for example, and health), but it is a great blessing to see the willingness they have to cherish and raise up this little boy. Our prayers and encouragement go out to them.

Our Friends' Adoption: An Update
Why I'm Voting for Rick Santorum in the SC Primary
Tomorrow, in the South Carolina GOP Presidential Preferenceprimary, I will be voting for Rick Santorum. Here’s why.
I need to start out by saying that I haven’t been totallythrilled with any of the four remaining candidates. All of them have obvious weaknesses ofcharacter and/or policy which will make their race against Obama less of a lockthan it ought to be. The Republican Partyneeds a leader of the Reagan type, who, like him in 1980, would win 40+ statesand carry a mandate with him to Washington. But since we have four remaining candidates from whom to choose, andsince any of them will be an improvement over the current president, I mustchoose from among them.
Rick Santorum, on the whole, represents my views the mostconsistently. He has been consistentlyand passionately pro-life, and wrote the bill that ended partial birthabortion. On social issues, he and I areof one voice. He is also a firm believerin the Second Amendment (The NRA rates him A+). He opposed TARP, voted against McCain-Feingold and Frank-Dodd, andreceives low ratings from both the ACLU and the AFL-CIO. While I am concerned about the trouncing hetook in the 2006 Pennsylvania Senate race (and, for that matter, the trouncinghe may get here in SC tomorrow, if the polls are valid), he is moredemonstrably opposed to Obama than either Romney or Gingrich. His biggest liability in my eyes is that hedoes not come across as a leader.
Newt Gingrich, at the moment, would be my secondchoice. I agree with him on mostissues—but he occasionally throws one out there that makes me scratch myhead. His personal character history isa serious problem and, even if he has sincerely repented and stays on the righttrack, will be a detriment in the race. (Obama, for all his flaws, has no hint of marital infidelity.) I am also concerned that his ego may become aliability.
Mitt Romney seems to be a conservative now, but my gut justdoesn’t like the fact that he wasn’t while he was the governor ofMassachusetts. I think he can be a greatexecutive, and if he is the GOP nominee, I will vote for him in November. But for now, I’m going with the most consistentconservative.
Ron Paul is problematic. His voting record is often meritorious and often puzzling. The ACLU rates him pretty favorably—that's aproblem. His vicious and untrue attackads concerning Santorum (being shown adnauseam this week on SC TV stations) trouble me. His foreign policy ideas are dangerous to thefuture of our country.
Please educate yourself on the candidates and then take theopportunity to vote.
An Update on our Friends' Adoption!
Friends of ours adopted a 3½-year-old boy with Down's Syndrome from Eastern Europe last summer (see their blog here). They have now had the boy in their home for six months. Their story has been featured on a local TV station and I'm sure many have viewed their blog. In short, their story not only testifies of God's love working through individuals, but also to the value of every individual soul—no matter the limitations of the physical body.
Six months later, there are still trials and struggles, but there has been both remarkable progress and great blessings. The work that God has allowed them to be a part of has now reached all the way back to Russia, and we are so grateful for it! I trust you will take the time to read about it here.
Mark's Duck House - Falls Church, VA
Located in a shopping center, there is plenty of free parking, but it can get crowded.
This place is smaller than other restaurants that offer dim sum, so it was PACKED! We took a number when we got through the crowd waiting by the door.
They offered many of the same dishes I'm used to seeing as well as some different items. Sorry guys, but I don't have prices for any of these items because they were in Chinese. All dishes are between $2.50 - $7.50 though.
1. Pan-Fried Chives Dumpling - Out of all the dumplings, this was my favorite.
2. Shrimp and Pork Dumpling (Shiu Mai)
3. Shrimp and Pork Dumpling
4. Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gao)

5. Fried Taro Dumpling - One of my favorite dishes when I have dim sum.
6. Shrimp Noodle Crepe - Best noodle crepe I've tried.
7. Lemongrass and Ginger Oyster - Oyster by itself was the size of my palm.
8. Stuffed Crab Claw - I broke my chopstick trying to cut this. It was massive!
Service was very fast with the carts, they constantly filled our water glasses, replaced my broken chopstick and reminded me that I forgot my leftovers. I thought they were great! Food was on point. Now I just need more dim sum buddies!6184 Arlington Blvd

Bobby's Burger Palace - College Park, MD
So we haven't started our 'wedding' diet yet, so I'll just continue to write about fattie places like Bobby's Burger Palace. The Fi (I guess that's his new name? Let's test it out.) visited the University of Maryland location. We met at UMCP, and things have changed. We never had nice buildings and restaurants like this when we were there! I'm not that bitter though...
The name is self-explanatory - they serve burgers. Gourmet ones created by Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay to be exact. The interior is bright with warm lighting. It's filled with bar seating/communal tables and very comfortable chairs that spin! It's a casual place where you order/pay at a register, they give you a number, and they bring food out to wherever you are sitting.
Many of the burgers are named after cities and characterized by a food that represents them. For example: The Fi ordered The Philadelphia Burger is topped with Provolone Cheese, Griddled Onions and Hot Peppers ($7.75). He thought it was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
If you're not in the mood for a burger, they offer sandwiches, salads, sides, milkshakes and other beverages. Also, if you don't eat beef, you can substitute the beef patty with turkey or chicken breast.
I wanted a flavor explosion so I ordered the Bobby Blue Burger with Blue Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato $7.75), and it wasn't as pungent as I was hoping. Again, it was an ok burger, but nothing particularly special. Ray's Hell Burger's equivalent is much better.
I love Sweet Potato Fries ($3) and these came with a Honey Mustard Horseradish Sauce which was awesome.
If you like dipping sauces, they have a variety including Jalapeño Hot Sauce, Chipotle Ketchup, Burger Sauce, and Barbecue. Sadly none of them really stuck out for me.

Book of the Month: Fierce Compassion
Resurrecting the category of blog posts entitledBook of the Month, I would like to introduce my very favorite book of2012: Fierce Compassion, by Kristin and Kathryn Wong. Fierce Compassion recounts the true story ofMiss Donaldina Cameron, who courageously rescued Chinese girls who were soldinto slavery in San Francisco in the early 1900s. I loved this book forthe amazing story itself, for the inspiring example of the heroine, and for thecaptivating writing style that kept me turning pages late into the night.
The stories and the backdrop are fascinating forthemselves, especially thought-provoking in light of current events includingmodern immigration trends and human trafficking awareness. Prior toreading this book, I knew next to nothing about Chinese immigration toCalifornia at the turn of the last century. In hopes that many of youwill also have the opportunity to read this book, I will refrain from explainingthe story. Suffice it to say that Donaldina Cameron lived a life oftremendous adventure (including daring police raids), heartbreak (lost love),and satisfaction in hard work (rescuing slaves and changing the tide of slaveryat the time).
One aspect of her story that particularly struckme is the way in which she began her tremendous work. It all started whenan old family friend told Donaldina about an opportunity to teach rescuedslaves in Chinatown, San Francisco. Donaldina first told the woman that shewas definitely not qualified for that sort of thing. When encouraged toconsider trying it for just a year, Donaldina agreed try it… for a year. It’s amazing what great things can follow a willingness to give something atry.
Fierce Compassion is a beautiful and inspiringtrue story of how Donaldina Cameron’s convictions, struggles, and dedicationwere used by God to bring justice and compassion into brokenness. You can find this book for yourselves here.
Checking in with photos
(from Heather) December is evidently high season for French microbes. The McCropders have recently hosted germinvasions including pink eye, ear infections, colds and coughs, and thestomach flu. I was waiting for someoneto post a blog documenting the unbelievable number of microbe manifestations. And then I realized that perhaps Iam the one with the most energy to write that blog, since every other McCropder adult has been sick or is currently sick. So youreaders could pray for health for all of us here… and maybeespecially for those who will be traveling for Christmas.
While I’m checking in, I will include photos of some events here (outside of class and between viruses) in the last few weeks…
Enjoying a Christmas festival downtown
Building Snowmen
Celebrating a birthday
Celebrating another birthday (and then another)
Skiing (Jason and Carlan behind goggles)
Eating dinner with friends (as usual)
Watching a curling competition
Attending a tea party for young princesses
Gathering to sing Christmas carols
Recreating St Nicholas
And for the adults, lots and lots of studying

Florida Vehicle History Report! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends. What's the best motorcycle polish you've ever used? I'm certain this question has been asked by thousands if not millions of guys, and some gals, interested in making their bike look super. I know I've used lots of polishes and waxes, some good, some bad. But I've never used a polish as versatile and easy to use as protectall polish, wax and treatment. Yes, I know you're thinking the Meguiar's family of car care products are the best! And for cars and trucks you may have it right. But for motorcycles with a mix of finishes including metal and plastic, nothing comes close to the all-in-one ease-of-use performance of protectall.
What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Florida Vehicle History Report. You check out this article for info on that need to know is Florida Vehicle History Report. How is Motorcycle Polish & Wax - The Best Motorcycle Polish You'll Ever Use
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Vehicle History Report.I prefer the aerosol cans and use both the 13.5 oz. And 6 oz. Sizes religiously. The big can is positioned in the garage ready for special jobs around the home. And the conveniently sized 6 oz. Can is on the bike. I mentioned earlier that protectall polishes all surfaces. On my bike, about the only thing I don't treat is rubber. Beyond that - everything is game. In fact, you don't want to use anything but protectall on plastic surfaces like windshields. Some people are fanatical about it like my utah biking buddy, hal. Protectall is all that touches his windshield.
Using the product is easy. I quote from the protectall site, "the application is as quick and easy as wipe on, wipe dry and it requires no tedious detailing around lettering and rubber molding." Do I hear an amen? All you do is spray it on [and you don't need to use much] spread it around with a clean, soft terrycloth towel or better yet micro-fiber towel, and then buff or wipe dry. No fuss! No muss! Protectall literally does it all. It removes dirt, grime, grease, road-hardened bugs and road film, and leaves a showroom Carnauba wax shine that fellow bikers will envy. Protectall was a mainstay on our recent road trip from Boston, ma to Boca Grande, Fl.
I applied Protectall each morning to clean and polish my windshield, faring, gas tank and saddlebags. The task took just 10 minutes and the bike looked great the rest of the day. And Protectall's protection lasted. We hit a squall or two coming through the Carolinas and Georgia, and all I had to do to return the bike to its morning luster was a few swipes with the towel. How easy is that! I mentioned earlier that I keep a large can in the garage for jobs around the home. Well, Protectall hasn't lasted long in the garage. We bought stainless appliances for our kitchen several years ago, and i've watched my wife labor to keep them looking good. She was gone the other day, and I thought, "dang, I wonder what Protectall would do?" So I grabbed the can and in minutes had the fridge, dish washer and range looking brand-spanking new. I was amazed how easy they were to polish with protectall and how impressive they looked. Needless to say, I scored points with my sweetheart.
To sum it up, protectall is my 'detail kit' in a can. I use it on virtually every surface on my bike. That's why it's one of my favorites, it's with us wherever we ride, and keeps my bike looking great. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend it to you. Pass-on the good word - you won't be sorry.

Deciphering Your Car's VIN
Do you know about - Deciphering Your Car's VIN
Vin Check ! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends. As an automobile owner, it can many times be helpful to determine when exactly your car was made, or where, or with what options or parts. Much and sometimes all of this info can be obtained from a number that is all over your car... its VIN. Every car manufactured since 1980 must be encoded with a unique VIN that provides a wealth of information about your car.
What I said. It is not outcome that the true about Vin Check . You read this article for information on an individual want to know is Vin Check .How is Deciphering Your Car's VIN
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Vin Check .Your VIN number can be found on many parts on your car, all with it displayed under the windshield on the lower left, under the hood, and in door jambs. Many manufacturers print it on every body panel. This is very helpful in determining whether you car is as marketed, whether it has had any body damage with replacement parts etc. To decipher the code, you will need to get your VIN, and break it down as follows.
Digits 1-3: This is the Make and Model of your vehicle
Digits 4-8: This is used to determine features or sub-models of your specific model
Digit 9: This is a check digit that is used to determine if the other digits have been faked.
Digit 10: This is the model year of the vehicle. Note, this is not necessarily the year of manufacture
Digit 11: This shows where the model was assembled
Digits 12-17: This is essentially the serial number, or chassis number for the model. Each model produced by the manufacturer will have a unique sequential number.
Due to the ability to easily confuse letters and numbers, a VIN cannot include the letters I, O or Q.
Determining the Make, Year, and Chassis
The first digit digit of the make determines country of manufacture. 1 or 4 for USA, 2 for Canada, 3 for Mexico, W for Germany. The second digit is the manufacturer. A for Audi, B for BMW, D for Mercedes, V for Volkswagen, P for Porsche.
The next important piece to glean is the model year. This is found in digit 10. Starting in 1980, the letter A, for 81 letter B and so on. Remember that I, O, Q are not used. Year 2000 was letter Y, and in 2001, it started back over with a 1, 2002 was 2 etc. The model year 2010 starts it all back over with an A. Finally, you can refer to the digits 12-17 for chassis number. Many times manufacturers will notate part changes mid model year, and they will use the chassis number to designate the split.
For a further detailed breakdown of your vehicles VIN, I highly recommend checking out the Wikipedia page on VIN. Just go to Wikipedia, and search on VIN. It does into detail on all manufacturers, detailed information on the calculation of the check digits, detailed charts on the years, manufacturers codes etc. Hopefully you found this article helpful as a high level overview of your vehicles VIN.

Cuban Women - How to Taste the Forbidden Fruit of International Dating
Do you know about - Cuban Women - How to Taste the Forbidden Fruit of International Dating
Florida Vin! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.Cuba is an island nation wrapped around rumors, intrigue and the hypnotic pull of a forbidden paradise. The U.S. embargo may have been disastrous on Cuba's economy but it created a vacuum.
What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about Florida Vin. You read this article for home elevators that need to know is Florida Vin.How is Cuban Women - How to Taste the Forbidden Fruit of International Dating
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Florida Vin.Time has stood still in this tiny country of enormous spirit. The values, traditions and family centered-ness of the Cuban people are exactly those, most of us long for in today's "modern" world. Family is the focus; love, care and affection run wild and grow everywhere. The unity created from despair has given birth to a unique woman.
The Cuban woman is born on a tropical island with its sensual rhythms, the push and pull of the ocean and caressing Caribbean breezes. Sexiness is as natural to her as breathing. And because of the economic conditions, she has learned to be intelligent, resourceful, appreciative of what really matters and graceful in all she does.
The women of Cuba have become known (by those in the know) to be the most succulent, sought after angels on planet Earth. These women make the perfect companion, friend, lover, mother and wife.
A "Cubanita" as women from Cuba are known, is a savage in the bedroom, or wherever else she takes you to feed her carnal appetite. She is a pristine lady in public, a chef of the highest caliber in the kitchen. A tour de force in her chosen profession and an intoxicating mate at all times. In essence, the vacuum created in Cuba has bred what some may consider to be the ideal woman.
However, the problem for many men has been how to meet and date these exotic creatures.
The Big Challenge
The big challenge is not where to find Cuban women. After all the grand majority of them are all living in the same 110,860 sq km island 90km off the southern most tip of Florida.
The challenge in meeting these women has been a question of how to get right up next to them.
For men from the U.S. the idea of going to Cuba represents a Federal Offense. For men from other countries such as Canada and Australia it is a voyage to a strange, unknown place the media has made out to be an active war zone.
But why should any government or media hype keep you from finding the woman of your dreams? With today's advances in technology there is little reason to let them.
Tasting The Forbidden Fruit
Internet access is growing in Cuba, although sometimes via underground means. The spreading of awareness and availability of the online world has led to new a trend in Cuba. Cuban women are now putting up profiles in dating and social networking sites on a daily basis.
You can go to several paid dating sites or free sites such as Facebook and Twitter and find Cuban woman already there. While the number of "Cubanitas" online is not as high as the number of other Latinas, such as Dominican women, Colombian women or Costa Rican women ("Ticas") online, the quality of the Cuban women with online profiles is second to none!
The first step towards getting yourself all tangled up with one or several of these delicious delights is to get online, set up your own profile and start chatting with the Cuban girls on the sites. Most of these women are career orientated and/or currently studying at the university level.
Cubans can get e-mail accounts in most government post offices; this makes communication even easier once you have met a few ladies on line. Additionally cell phone use, particularly cell phones with chat and text capabilities is also growing in Cuba. Once you start making friends with Cuban women online staying in touch is simple, not like in times past when a call to Cuba was a huge deal.
The next step is setting up actual dates. To do this you must plan a trip. And here you have a few choices.
Contrary to popular belief, Cuban's can get travel visas. They just can't get travel visas to countries like the U.S. with any form of ease. But you will find Cuban women who already have travel visas and can visit countries such as Venezuela, Russia and Dominican Republic.
If you are not willing to travel to Cuba you can carefully arrange to meet a special lady friend in a country where she can travel. However the best thing is really for you to go there.
With new regulation being introduced in the U.S. if you are of Cuban descent getting permission to visit Cuba is a reality now. You can go to Cuba, find the woman you want to marry and bring her to the U.S. with a fiancée visa.
If you don't live in the U.S. then you have every reason and opportunity to get on a plane and start dating face-to-face the sizzling "Cubanitas" you meet online.
If you live in the U.S. and are not of Cuban descent getting to the forbidden island nation will be more difficult. You could apply under a humanitarian visa. There are also reports of U.S. citizens who visit Cuba illegally (illegal in the U.S. not Cuba) by first flying to a country such as Mexico. From there they will take a second flight into Cuba. Because Cuba does not stamp their passport there is no evidence of them having entered the country.
At the end of the day, if you meet Cuban women online you will be filled with the courage and sense of purpose required to actually visit with them, hold them, hug them and kiss them.
Love beyond your borders is waiting; all it takes is a little bit of commitment on your part and a few mouse clicks. May you find the love life you most desire and may nothing hold you back from doing so.

Acne Scar Remedy 1: Lemons
If your acne scars dark, you can use lemon juice to lighten them. Cleanse your face with lemon juice. Dab one teaspoon of lemon juice into a cotton ball and smooth it over the acne marks. Leave for ten minutes, then rinse. Use caution with lemon juice because it can make your skin photosensitive. So be certain to use a sunscreen on any area you treat with lemon juice prior to going out into the sun.
Acne Scar Remedy 2: Soda
Exfoliate your skin with baking soda. Often times a version of baking soda is used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments. You can give yourself a mini microdermabrasion treatment by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of filtered water. Then gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for sixty seconds then rinse it off.
Acne Scar Remedy 3: Olives
After exfoliating your skin with baking soda, massage a pea-sized amount of olive oil onto your face. Acne scaring can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and suppleness. The moisturizing nutrients in the olive oil will penetrate the skin to deeply moisturize the skin and soften the skin's texture.

In addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face for gentle acid exfoliation. Just puree a forth a cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Since the pineapples contains ascorbic acid, it will impart a brightening effect on the face, and help fade acne marks.
Acne Scar Remedy 5: Water
It cannot be said enough. "Your skin needs water." Especially when you want to promote the type of skin repair needed to heal acne scarring. Your skin needs water to keep the skin plump, to remove toxins, and the build new skin cells. Drink at least 80 ounces of filtered water a day to give your skin the quality and quantity of water it needs to reveal healthier, fresher skin.
Acne Scar Remedy 6: Consistency
The ultimate ingredient needed to completely remove acne scars is consistency. Acne scars form over a series of weeks, layer by layer. To remove the acne scarring, you need to use your acne home remedy on a daily basis to remove the damaged scar tissue layer by layer.
To be successful at fading and healing your acne scars at home, you just need to plan in advance. Devote time to removing the damaged skin and giving yourself the nutrients you need to build healthier skin.

Do you know about - Motorcycle Polish & Wax - The Best Motorcycle Polish You'll Ever Use

No fuss!
